“Code, Create, Explore!”
Introduction
We encourage our pupils to leave St Mary’s as confident, capable, and digitally literate learners, who are not only consumers of technology, but thoughtful and responsible users and creators — ready to thrive in the digital age.
At St Mary’s, we aim to equip every child with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Our broad and balanced curriculum, spanning EYFS to Year 6, is carefully sequenced across the three strands of Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy to ensure clear progression and deep understanding. We intend for pupils to develop secure knowledge of algorithms, programming and data representation, use technology purposefully to create and manage digital content, and become safe, respectful and responsible digital citizens. Through engaging and inclusive lessons, we foster creativity, curiosity and problem-solving skills, preparing pupils for the next stage of their education and a future where digital competence is essential.
