At St Mary's Welham Green we have high expectations of attendance for all our pupils. We look at attendance regularly to ensure patterns of low attendance are noticed in a timely manner. 

Attendance at school is a legal duty and every parent or carer's responsibility. It is our policy that we will always work with you because we want the best for your children. 

It does not take much for your child's attendance to drop:

• Attendance of 85% over a school year is the same as missing a half-term of school. 
• A two-week holiday during term time will mean the most your child can achieve is 95%

We will request a Fixed Penalty Notice when we have tried everything else.
