Governors help set the strategic direction, aims and objectives for the school and the policies and targets for achieving those aims and objectives.  They monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making and act as a source of challenge and support to the headteacher.

The Governing Body has three key functions set by the Government:

• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
• Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
• Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The full governing body meets three times a year in November, March and July.

The Chair of Governors is Sheila Hoile MBE.

Committees 

The Governing Body has two sub-committees, Resources and Standards and Curriculum which report back into the full governing body meetings.

The Resources Committee meets three times a year in October, February and May. It has responsibility for finance, staffing, premises and health and safety. It is chaired by Ciaran Diver

The Standards and Curriculum Committee meets 3 times a year in October, February and May. It has responsibility for the educational performance, the quality of education and the curriculum. It is chaired by Sheila Hoile.
